Animal Guides

The Guides for this issue are the Flicker (corresponding to Cancer) and the Sturgeon (corresponding to Leo). They are of the South quarter, the direction of the Coyote. The South Medicine Shield is Fire. Its colors are yellow and green and it represents trust and innocence. Its lessons are vulnerability, ancient protections, and the spark of life and astral balance.

COYOTE

Love of Truth
Sanctify Positions

Staying within his own tracks, the Coyote utilizes the stance of Man to stay within the shadow that is put on earth. The Coyote eases into Man from behind him and leaves his semblance of self that Man may have more love. Utilizing capacities of old, the Coyote reminds Man of all the old ways to say truth. Resting only briefly, the Coyote circles around Man deepening quickness of tasting selfness. Lasting as long as needed, the Coyote presents many faces to be understood by those who will. Quickly becoming strengthened, the Coyote raises Man's tests of self and tries to show Man all his sides, even the ones Man would wish not to see. Deepening into Man, the Coyote holds himself up to Man as a mirror of Man's willingness to accept unusual selves as they appear. Saying to Man that which Man needs to hear, the Coyote reminds him of his different responsibilities to himself and others, by constantly showing Man how others may view him if he is not true to himself.

Search for All that is Needed

Valuing all that is lost temporarily, the Flicker returns to Man all her strength of character. Venturing safely close to Man, the Flicker jumps around Man to welcome him. Touching deeply within Man, the flicker raises her abilities to sense and feel all things about her. Bringing to Man her great strength of resources, the Flicker values all wishes of Man and delivers such as is needed. Reaching as far back as is necessary, the Flicker welcomes opportunities of seek out valuable quantities for Man. Leaving a gathering of true values around Man, the Flicker wisely wants Man to choose well from the qualities provided.

STURGEON

Set an Example

Deeply venturing forth, the Sturgeon moves easily through all his environments to show Man openings in self that match openings around him. Valuing both openings equally, the Sturgeon places himself at ready. Willing to explore all paths and routs set for him, the Sturgeon provides calmness and reliability for Man. Able to travel in any direction, against all pressures, the Sturgeon settles easily into his place of places. Opening himself to Man, the sturgeon shows ease with selves. Praying with Man, the Sturgeon allows all that is and is not Man to become accepting of each other’s wanderings.
