O Yule Log we return to you
O Yule log we return to you
to the circle of life
once you were a stout branch
of oak on this land
and now you are but ashes in the hand
bridge you are from life
through death and now to life again
as we spread your ashes
over the fields
you lit our reveling
you held us together
through the death of the year
now you bring your fire
and your fertility
to the new crops
hail healthy one
hail hearty one
we thank you anew
as you hallow the work
of the New Year
