Herbal Sex, Nightscapes

By Rowan

Modern drugs and techniques appear to work magic, but in many ways nothing can beat simple herbs for a healthier and more enjoyable life. If your Great Rites have recently become less sacred, give the following herbal suggestions a try. They may help bring back the missing zing; and being all-natural can't hurt your health.

A gypsy favorite is reputed to be pumpkinseeds. They benefit the prostate and are a rich source of zinc and magnesium. Pumpkinseeds are said to give the male that He-man power.

In Eastern folklore, the sesame seed has proven its charm. This is reflected in the magical saying, Open Sesame! The sesame is reported to provide vast nutritional wealth.

The ancient Babylonians produced a candy from honey and sesame seeds for sexual stimulation. Honey beer was used as a love potion in ancient times. Thirty days before a wedding, the betrothed would begin drinking honey beer to insure fertility and to guard against female frigidity. This eventually led to the term honeymoon. Honey beer was originally made from fermented honey and malt, flavored with various aromatic and bitter herbs. Eventually the potion was prepared by using hops instead of malt. Honey contains vitamin E, while the hop has appreciable amounts of estrogen. Vitamin E is the fertility factor.

The Chinese Ginseng root has a beneficial influence on the sex glands. It is also used as an elixir for staying young.

Coming to the rescue of aging male organs, fenugreek contains large amounts of vitamin A. This herb is an Old World sex rejuvenator and contains proteins and amino acids (the building blocks of the body).

There is a clear relationship between nutritional deficiencies and imbalance in sex hormones. In women this may result in menstrual difficulties, painful breasts, and acne. In men, the signs are sparse body hair, a softening of the testes, enlarged breasts and a loss of sexual vigor. In both genders, sterility is a risk. As if we needed more compelling reasons for a healthy, complete diet.

These are just a few of the herbal remedies to help an ailing sex life. Of course, these won't save a relationship! So don't forget to attend to the emotional as well.
