Namaste II By Donald Michael Kraig In my previous article I began to describe a new magical group known as NAMASTE, the New Association of MAgical, Sexual and Tantrik Explorers. In this article I will recap information from the previous article, continue with more information and conclude with a contact address. The purpose of NAMASTE is twofold. Its first purpose is to train people in Tantra and/or Sex Magick. The second purpose is to share that information with others who are both inside and outside of the Association. Organization In an attempt to avoid problems found in other magical groups, NAMASTE has the following policies: 1) NAMASTE claims no ancient lineage nor links to other groups. NAMASTE wants to bring the teachings of Sex Magick and Tantra into the present with modern terms and modern methods. NAMASTE offers structured teachings in Sex Magick and Tantra without either high cost or the need to become a high-ranking member of some Order, a process that could take years. NAMASTE also has a structure that will allow new discoveries to be shared initially with members and eventually with others. 2) The only officer is the President who has both mystical and executive functions. Only the President may initiate. There are no proxy or astral initiations. No one else has the right of initiation. A) The President may choose assistants who have the function of helping the President in his/her duties and only under the President's authority. 3) To avoid the egotism often found in degree structures, there is only one NAMASTE initiation, and that is into the Association. 4) Upon initiation, members receive a set of documents. When a member can prove mastery of those documents through passing a test to the satisfaction of the President, the member is entitled to the next set of documents. 5) There are no degrees. 6) If a member A asks another member B a question which relates to documents A may not yet have earned, it is the responsibility and duty of B to teach/share the information so that A will not only understand the information, but can make use of it. The more a person learns in NAMASTE, the more he or she is responsible to those who know less. 7) It is the responsibility of members to regularly communicate with the President or the President's assistants. Besides asking questions for reply and simply describing appropriate experiences, this communication should include any methods/techniques/rituals designed by the reporting members and the results of that work. 8) When developments and/or discoveries are reported to the President, he will share this information with a group of members who have volunteered to test the work of others. If the results of these members confirm the results of the originator, the originator may publish the information with the imprimatur of the Association. 9) Any attempt by any member(s) to split the Association will result in the immediate publication of the events leading up to such an attempt. a) Anytime a member is unhappy or dissatisfied with the Association, he or she may write to the President and formally announce severance with the Association. b) Such a member may rejoin at any time by being reinitiated. 10) It is a Taoistic idea is that anything that is born must die. Since this article announces the birth of NAMASTE, it follows that the Association should have a period of growth, maturation and eventual death. NAMASTE will exist until noon, January 1, 2010 C.E., at which time it will cease to be. 11) There are no dues or fees for initiated members. However, all correspondence with the Association by members or nonmembers will require (in the U.S.A.) a Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope or (outside the U.S.A.) a Self-Addressed Envelope and two IRCs (International Reply Coupons, available at a post office). Members will be responsible for the cost for copying Association documents which they receive. If a member cannot afford such a payment, alternative forms of energy exchange may be arranged. While is traditional for members to give gifts to organizations such as this (and they will be gratefully accepted), they are neither expected nor required. 12) Since this Association does work with sexuality, it is strictly limited to people over 21 years of age. If requested, members must prove their age. Any attempt by members to use sexuality as discussed within NAMASTE for manipulating other members or nonmembers, or having sex with a minor or non-consensual partner, will result in immediate expulsion of that member and public denunciation. 13) Associate Membership is available. Associate Membership dues are $10.00 per month, payable quarterly and in advance. Dues are non-refundable. An associate member receives papers based upon the documents of NAMASTE and may work on his/her own. If an Associate Member becomes a regular member through initiation, that member will no longer need to pay dues. 14) NAMASTE is not a dating group nor will it arrange sexual partners. The Divisions NAMASTE is divided into two sections. At first, a member receives information that can apply to either section. The initiation into NAMASTE is distinctly Tantric in nature. It requires that the initiate is digambara, clothed with the directions of space (nude), but involves no sexual activity. After a time of study and practice that can be used in either section, initiated members are given a choice to become part of either section or both of them. NAMASTE West is for the study of Sex Magick. Sex Magick consists of techniques and methods involving the use of sexual energy that cause desired changes to occur. The study of Sex Magick involves theory, philosophy and technique, but can be used in harmony with any other magickal system, from ceremonial magick to Wicca. NAMASTE East is for the study of Indian Tantra. It was discussed, in some detail, in the previous article of this series. NAMASTE West is completely different from NAMASTE East. As already mentioned, this division of the Association is based on the study and development of the techniques of sex magick. The techniques covered will include methods both ancient and modern. The progression of study begins with the study of manifesting, controlling and directing the magical energy that develops during sexual excitation. This study, and the exercises that go with it, covers both mental and physical aspects of energy work. After a student has mastered this aspect, he or she is introduced to sharing and amplifying energy with a partner. Once each level is mastered, the student will receive instructions on how to direct that energy to achieving specific goals. While the techniques given in NAMASTE will overlap those of other groups, NAMASTE is not meant to replace any other organization. In fact, much of the information does not come from the standard sources of sex magick theory, but traces both information and technique to the earliest kabalists who used sex magick and the sexual trance to achieve spiritual and practical goals. When a member masters a level of study/practice, he/she will be encouraged to experiment and devise individual techniques. These techniques will be reported to the President who will share them with other members of NAMASTE West who have agreed to test techniques. If they verify the results of the member who submitted the technique, that member will be encouraged to have his/her technique published and given the approval of NAMASTE. The methods shared with members will help to enhance any magical system. Even if a person chooses not to use sex magick, the techniques and information will be valuable. Being an associate or initiated member of NAMASTE gives a person no secret powers or special abilities. Although there is no charge for regular membership or initiation, you will find that you may spend a great deal of money and time on yourself (studying, buying books, supplies, etc.). NAMASTE is not as much about what you get as about what you can give. Particularly, it is hoped that members will be able to explore Sex Magick and Tantra and help it advance and develop into the next millennium. For those who are interested, the door to NAMASTE will open to new members soon. At that time information will be sent to those who have requested it. If you are interested in more information, write to the following address: NAMASTE c/o DMK P.O. Box 661182 Los Angeles, CA 90066 Be sure to enclose a business size (number 10) self-addressed stamped envelope for the reply (outside the U.S. include 2 IRCs). At this time the NAMASTE is not accepting new members, but it is expected that they will do so within a month or two. 1996, Donald Michael Kraig
