The Wise Woman Energy:
A Coming Planetary Initiation for Everyone By Rev. Mary Elizabeth Jochmans We are rapidly approaching a time when the greatest number of women ever will have gone through or be going through menopause. This is a global phenomenon. Because of the strong connection women have to the Earth and all life, we will see some interesting things happening over the next twenty-five years. These changes will affect society and humanity for generations. Since the Wise Woman/Crone energy is the most feared in modern times, as in ancient societies, there are many options for how the general populace will choose to deal with these energies. We as women (and our intuitive men), are being given the opportunity over the next five years to envision new ways to work with the Wisdom energies. Part of what happens for women during menopause is they learn to become more focused, self-directed and discerning about who, where, when and why they direct their energies. We will see this reflected within society, as all people become less willing to support people, situations, institutions, companies and governing bodies that are no longer life affirming. When women enter menopause they become more selective in what they feed, nurture and support in their lives. This begins on a personal level at the beginning of the ten-year ending cycle of menopause. As women move into the last few years of this ten-year cycle, their focus becomes more community oriented. Instead of asking if where, when and how they direct their energies is good for themselves and their immediate family, the question becomes one of whether it is life affirming for themselves, humanity and the planet as a whole. What we will see happening as we each individually, as groups and as a planet go through this menopausal doorway is a pause to ask if what we are feeding, nurturing, loving and putting our life energy into is life affirming. As we each become more selective about where, when and how we focus and direct our life giving energies, values will change—personally, socially and globally. Clarity of purpose will be seen. A more global perspective will manifest out of this menopausal time as we pause to take stock of what is really happening around the world. This will be a time of reassessing what we value in our own personal lives, our community and our world. We will then begin to focus on feeding, nurturing and empowering what we value rather than what we fear. The Egyptian Goddess Tefnut is a strong representation of this menopausal energy of Wisdom focused and directed for the highest good of all. She is a cat headed goddess who understands how to live within the flow of change in the Universe. She understands the Wisdom of timing and how to align with it to produce powerful results for the least amount of effort expended. Tefnut teaches Wisdom born through experience, timing of actions and focus of direction. She is the representative in the Egyptian pantheon of the Wise Woman/Crone energies. She is one of the nine Enneads, or children of Ra. Connected to the energies of the Aquarius Urn, which pours the Wisdom of the Greater Plan of the Ancients out onto the Earth, Tefnut is the outpourer of the Wisdom of Ra. She is the rain" of Ra, or the water through which the sun of Ra shines, creating a rainbow—the representation of the many facets or Paths to Truth. As we enter this new Age of Aquarius, she will become a more important symbol for all of us as we seek to go through this Menopausal Initiation into focused Wisdom and Truth. She will help us see that only by standing in the center of the gemstone of Wisdom may we know all facets of the jewel of Truth. The Wise Woman/Crone, Wise Man/Wizard energies of the next twenty-five years will be born of the Wisdom of True Experience. No longer will those who only talk the talk be listened to. Only those able to walk the talk and live what they say, teach and believe will be listened to. Only those with True understanding of the meaning of their words and teachings born through the Wisdom of Experience be accepted as Wise Ones. Neither age nor ethnic background nor study will be enough to make a Wise One. Personal experience will be necessary. Just because someone is old does not mean they are wiser or more experienced. Nor is youth a good yardstick. Only by listening to someone and observing how they live will the true Wisdom born through experience be seen. Acknowledgment of this Wisdom energy in those around us and honoring the life lessons we all have learned through experience is part of this Menopausal Initiation for the planet. Humanity as a whole, and particularly the Western cultures, will gain a greater respect and honor for the Wisdom Keepers whose knowledge comes through full body, mind and spiritual experience. This Wisdom energy will bring a resurgence in the honoring of Life and the Divine connection we each have to Spirit. An awareness of how little we truly know and the great things we are capable of doing is part of this Wisdom energy. One of the wonders and frustrations about the Wise Woman / Wise Man energy is that none is wasted. No movement, thought, idea, word or deed is acted upon except at the right time and with intense directed focus. Unlike the power of youth, no energies are scattered helter-skelter to the winds. No motion or action is performed unless and until the Universal Timing is at hand. The knowledge of this comes through experience and wisdom; through truly living and being. This ability to know where, when, why and how to act uses less energy and time, is more direct and leaves much energy and time for other pursuits and contemplations. My hope is that each of us will learn to love and honor our own wisdom, whatever it may be. Each of us has learned things through our experiences that make us wise in our own way. By learning to honor the Wise Woman/Crone in ourselves, we will then be in a better position to honor it in others, society as a whole and within the Earth, too. This Wisdom born through experience is what will insure our survival into the next century. We, as women, as the Earth Mother and as humanity, enter together this time of menopause, of change. As we do so, let us take time to learn to go within to our Center. There we can ask for a Vision from Her, and from the Divine at the Heart of the Cosmos, of what the focus of our life force energies needs to be now. Let us each learn to listen to our own Inner Truth Center of Wisdom and act upon it with power. Our daily Vision Prayer might be: Divine One, Earth Mother
Assist me to be open
To receive the larger Vision
Of what is possible
For my self and all life. Guide me as I seek
To follow my chosen Path
With dedication:
Trusting in the process
