Mother Earth When it rains, the Earth is crying. When it is cloudy, She is feeling sad. When it is sunny, Earth is joyous. When it is windy, She is in a foul mood. When it snows, She lays her blanket over her sleeping creatures. When leaves fall from the trees, She tells us it's time for a change. When flowers bloom, Her new children see the world. When we plant a seed, She grows it for us. We bask in her warmth, Protect ourselves from Her cold, We sleep during Her peaceful nights, and accept Her animals for our own. We use her and abuse her. Why do we treat our Mother this way? One day She will die— And we will be left with nothing. Cinsearae Santiago |
