Janice Hensley's Animal Guides Crane Love of safety build securely Lovingly on hand for man, the crane uses her nest to hold man safely from all harm. When man needs strength to capably nurture herself and others, the crane satisfies man's need by naturally easing back to man all ownership of all selves by providing strength in the younger self. By providing a safe and secure place for the inner parts of man, the crane offers the promise of value to the needs of man's inner orphan. By recognizing and offering rescue to that part of man even she herself has deserted, the crane offers the promise of a wise and gentle parent. Parenting is a joyful choice of tasks for the crane. No other effort is approached with such love and devotion by the crane. Restoring her nest to accommodate man, the crane provides softness, warmth and sustenance for her charge as long as she is in need of it. Eagerly greeting man as she returns to her nest, the crane never tires of man's need for inner comfort. Instead she rejoices in each opportunity to act on man's behalf. Only asking to be loved in return, the crane gives all that she has each time man seeks the safety of her nest. Part of man's own internal wilderness is tamed and treated by the crane as she brings man her care and recognizes balkiness and stubbornness within her charge. By her constant care and valued watchfulness, the crane removes these and other resistance to man's progress before she expects man to take leave of her.
