As the light from God
Begins to rest and lessen
Cooling the sweet, warm sod,
The sky begins to darken.
Into graceful sleep,
Under a blanket of stars,
Dreams inward to seep,
Quiet joy is theirs. In the paler light,
Goddess comforts and does hold,
Throughout the increasing night,
There is a warmth in the cold.
Memories all about do abound.
Gentle smile can be found.
And the animals gather around.
The world swells and grows round.
In the air, a trembling sensation,
The silent promise to take form,
Beneath the ice, a sweet anticipation,
The glories to return, anew born.
