The Odic Force By Phaedron Od is a universal force, named by Baron Karl von Reichenbach in the late 1800's. Od has a polarity which, in the body, corresponds to left and right. This odic polarity acts similarly to magnetic polarity. It attracts and repels along lines of force. According to von Reichenbach, it would be easier to shake hands with opposite sides (left with right) rather than like sides. Two right hands shaking is like two negative poles meeting. He states that the flow of odic force is more natural by using attracting, not repelling poles. Similarly, this like-repulsion occurs when you stand in a line of people. Everyone stands so that the persons in front and back have their left side aligned with left side, and right side with right side; thus discomfort builds, because the odic energy doesn't flow properly. Von Reichenbach suggests alternately facing front and back. Polarities will naturally complement each other as negative to positive. Since people emit the odic force, it gets bound up in closed rooms filled with people. Simply, the room gets overcharged. The room's occupants absorb that unbalanced condition, becoming irritable, depressed, physically over burdened (i.e., hot), anxious, sick and moody. Ever wonder why a newly changed bed is so pleasant for sleeping? It's because of relieving this overcharged condition. This occurs with clothing worn all day, too. A few changes of clothes during the day markedly help this condition. Further in his researches, Baron von Reichenbach experimented with eye contact. The eyes are great conductors of od and many odic imbalances are caused by eye imbalances. Although he suggests covering one eye during the experiment, it may be assumed that if the eye is weak or its vision blocked or unfocused due to head-angle, it creates the same effect as covering it. Use your right eye to look into the left eye of a person and he will not object. Then use your left eye and he will become restless. If he is aware and sensitive, he will even be blind in that eye for a second or two afterward. Left into left is unbearable! You can see od. Here's a simple method: Put a closed bottle of alcohol in a darkened room. Go into a meditative state so that there are no distractions, and your mind is so still that it can fix on anything well. Once you've achieved that state and your eyes have adjusted to blackness, open the bottle and get ready to see the od releasing. It glows. Hold your breath so the od stream won't dissipate. You'll see the column of od come out of the mouth of the bottle. Fermenting sugar fluids emit a much odic light. Try this with champagne. Usually you'll be able to see tiny, active, shooting sparks come from the top! Consistently, people find sitting with their back facing west is intolerable. This is due to the action of odic polarity. Sitting with your back facing north is better. The od positive side of the body is the left. So facing east means your od positive side is in the north. The north pole of the earth is od positive. The south pole is od negative. So the opposite pairing is compatible (facing west or south) because like charges repel. But the base energy of the physical body does become satisfied when one meditates facing east, as one slightly unites with the Creator and source of all life which is east. This is very important: As the body can be divided into left/right, it can also be divided, upper/lower. The upper part of the body is od negative and the lower part of the body is od positive. Thus, your bed should be oriented so that your head is in the north and your feet in the south.
