On the fairies defending
decent creatures

A winged beast came to a feast
prepared by sev'ral fairies.
It felt defeat, since it would meet
with all the dignitaries.

They all were there with nose in air
pronouncing perfect vowels.
Their coats were lined, their shoes well shined,
they used the proper towels.

This winged creature had no feature
that was kindly gazed at.
It made faux pas, had clumsy claws
they laughed and were amazed at.

The fairies were particular:
the guests should mingle gently
with civil tongue from old and young,
no words thrown temperament'ly.

However, though the beast did show
the most polite affection,
the other guests turned into pests
with each increased objection.

So, fairies all began to bawl
at every guest to leave
except the beast: they knew at least
which faction they should heave.

They made the clouds rain down like shrouds
to spoil the bad guests' dining.
The VIP's felt great unease
from fairy undermining.

The winged one can now have fun
with each friend who's a fairy.
It knows quite well that they can tell
the nice from the contrary.

So, should you blame or call a name
someone you think is worthless,
the fairies they will have you pay
by making your life mirthless.
