Astrological Forecast

It's spring, time of the gathering and culmination of light! Just as the crops grow fastest during this season, so too do our plans and projects. Now we are fully into the 171-year cycle that began in early February, but we are still completing the transition phase begun in 1987. 1993 is the last year of that phase.
I am fascinated by what is taking place politically around the globe. Nowhere are the changes better symbolized than by the shifting of power as the baby boomer generation begins to try its perspective on the country. Socially, although it is the largest demographic unit in the country, you would almost think that it didn't exist for all the coverage it receives. Since this (my) generational group went underground with the election of Ronald Reagan, or at least buried its ideals then, its goals have been maintained almost as a conspiracy.
Since most of you reading this are involved in the development of inner self as a part of your daily life, and a good many of you number among the baby boomers, the essence of this generation's force should come as no surprise. It is of course to introduce a heart-centered approach to all human activities in order to create profound harmony and balance. The heart is esoterically the crossroads of spirit and matter. If this drive seems somewhat grandiose, it is no less so than that of any generation, and that does not make it any less necessary or doable.
The Clinton administration refreshingly typifies this new consciousness, applying the recovery model to our addicted society. It is a workable model, a stage in the eternal unfolding of human nature, which must one day give way to a new model.
This administration does represent a new Camelot, in the sense that it carries the hopes of a generation, the first of its members to wield power and show how well they can fulfill its dreams. However, it is a toned-down, even chastened Camelot that has been crippled by its inheritance of debt and neglect of the underclasses.
It has the feel of unreality to me, that we may finally be able to talk about what is the most important aspect of human existence—spirituality in its many forms. This has been the ultimate taboo that has caused a tainted light to be shed on anything that can lead to spiritual understanding—astrology, numerology, meditation and so forth. The roots of this lie in the creation of the Universal (Catholic) Church, which strove to keep the masses barefoot and pregnant in order to control and manipulate them. For a long time we have been attempting to bootstrap ourselves out of that insidious mind game, and now dare we hope that this spell is finally to be broken?
It is a heady experience for me, watching the jaded journalists and the sated Senators try to second-guess Clinton and nullify his efforts. Although I often turn off the news interviews in disgust, I am increasingly able to see that this may not be enough to stop the transformation that Clinton has unleashed. Once the avalanche has started, it must run its course. This is both the blessing and curse of human consciousness on the mass level. It may take us a while to latch on to a new direction, but once we do, we will play it out. If we have truly, finally, stopped shooting ourselves in the foot as a species, the big turnaround may be at hand.
Since the United States often paves the way for other nations to follow its vision, we can see the spawning of similar revolutions in consciousness taking place elsewhere. It's hard to see how we can apply this hope to the battle-torn region of Bosnia-Hercegovina, but we can take heart in the tangible changes we see elsewhere.
As ever, we can remind ourselves of the tried and true as above, so below." We need only manifest spirit in ourselves as individuals to strengthen the manifestation of spirit into our species as a whole. I say only" not because I have often found it easy to do, but because I have found it easier and more compelling than to not do it.
So after a winter of barely hanging in there (for me), trying to hang on to my vision of the newness, it is finally here. Let the band begin to play!
MAY: May begins with an opportunity to redirect your forces, if necessary. Some realignment of goals may be needed to maintain or improve integrity. You will have the added advantage of a practical and objective perspective to apply to this adjustment. It is a time for movement and action, and the transformation of relationships begun in mid-March will take another step. You can use this time to develop a new framework through your practical action. The window of opportunity for this lasts from about May 1st until May 20th. You may not feel as though you are accomplishing everything you want to, but you will experience more progress now than at most other times during 1993.
Don't forget to cast your affirmations at the time of Beltane. This is a time of sensual delights and taking joy in the beauty of life and the splendor of growth. Whether you celebrate it on the 1st, on the 5th, or somewhere in between, afford yourself the pleasures of life!
People will be a little high-spirited, even high-strung, on May 4th, 5th and 6th. You may uncover factors that you were not aware of before and need to make some adjustments in your plans. On some issues, it may be better to wait until after the 7th to activate them. On the 8th, activation energies are strong but not compelling, if you want to take the opportunity.
On the 9th, you may be called upon to balance honor and integrity with practical material concerns. Issues related to evaluation, for instance the value placed on products and services will arise. In the news may be trade negotiations and governmental ethics and morals.
Changes in relationships are again highlighted on the 10th, but with open and honest communication over the following week, the outcome will be good, and everything will have settled down to a new norm by the 15th.
On the 13th and 14th, we can become more aware of what changes we really want to make in our lives to fulfill the energies of the new 171-year cycle begun on February 2nd. We may for the first time get a true vision of what we want to become. If we consider this new cycle to be the start of a new paradigm, we can see why it is yet difficult to have this vision. The cycle is too new for us to understand how to re-invent ourselves in entirety. These two days carry a lot of intensity as we reach the halfway point in the yearly cycle begun in mid-November last year. This cycle has to do with deep change, the transformative elements in our lives. To determine what this time will focus on for you, consider what you were experiencing around November 14th and February 26th. Although this marks the culmination of the cycle, you will not completely resolve your issues here until about the 1st of August. This cycle is also associated with terrorism and movements of mass consciousness. Note that the bombing of the World Trade Center and the standoff with David Koresh began around February 26th. The new Rodney King beating trial also began around then.
On the 17th, you may feel frustrated, tired and overworked. This feeling will dissipate gradually into a breakthrough feeling on the 20th. Your life is still not perfect, but some relief is at hand. We also get a glimpse of things to come on the 20th. For a 2-year period, one theme will be manifesting spirit into matter or restructuring in order to manifest spirituality in a practical way. Although we don't wholly enter this focus until January 28th of 1994, we can gain insight into this energy shift from May 20th until June 30th. After that, we return to the theme of the past two years, restructuring the collective or group to foster healthy individual growth and (re) introducing progressive constructs into the status quo. This reflects the process we see taking place in government now, for instance, between the administration of a new generation (the baby boomers), with its view of government as a dysfunctional family, and the old Washington Beltway insiders with their post-WWII territorialism. We can also see this in even sharper contrast in Russia, as Yeltsin battles the forces of the old Communist regime.
After the 20th, we can lighten up a little. In fact, holding on will only backfire now. The solar eclipse on the 21st begins a new 6-month cycle with a focus on integration and integrity. We seem finally to be able to let go of the past. We don't need to forget it, only to stop trying to live in it. The desire for adventure will be strong now. —Yes, it's okay to take that cruise to Outer Mongolia now! (Just make sure the boat has four legs!)
You can coast until the 27th, when we could be caught off guard by an unforeseen abrupt change brought on by friends, family and partners. Don't be surprised if it involves money, and don't forget that it doesn't have to be bad. Miracles and catastrophes come from the same energy. This focus will stay with us until the 31st, when whatever we began in mid-September 1992 will move forward once again with the desired result. Think of what you were doing around September 17th and January 30th to gain clues to what rewards you may expect now.
JUNE: The heavens will surely be with you through the 2nd, and then we enter a transitional period that will carry us through the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 4th. We may feel some anxiety that will peak on the 7th.
On the 9th, we must give up control of a restructuring process we began in early February. It's not that your plans are wrong, but the timing may be off, or you may have to backtrack to cover something you had not considered in your original plans. This phase of the project will last until October 28th. You'll make progress, but you may not get the big carrot until after the 28th.
The drive to make changes, even force them, will be strong on the 11th. This particular date ties in with a cycle begun November 15th, 1991. Again, transformation is the key theme, and terrorism, violence and (mis) use of power are likely to receive focus now.
Pressures from several different sides will lead to a new awareness on the 16th and 17th which will require fast action. On the 18th we may feel a bit lazy. No harm in that, but this may be a way of avoiding something. You'll feel more productive and move more efficiently toward your goals beginning on June 23rd, so cut yourself some slack in the meantime.
Summer solstice on the 21st is a time to rejoice in the light and warmth of life. In the yearly cycle, the rewards are beginning to develop, even if we can't harvest them yet. Relax and enjoy—you've done a lot to get this far.
On the 23rd we become more aware of the need to bridge the gap between the seen and unseen realms. You may feel the stirrings of great inner forces. Energy blocks may be broken through now, especially if you are involved in a spiritual path and doing practices to further your growth.
On the 26th through the 30th, relationships, values and money once again receive high focus; and the changes you make now will produce true progress. If you take responsibility for your own feelings and actions, you will truly be a winner during this time.
Although spring is normally a time of great activity, it's okay to go easy on ourselves now. We've made it into the new cycle, but it is too new to understand fully what it holds for us. Confusion may hold sway, and a time of confusion is not a time to act. Although we will be able to take action on small projects and short-term goals where we have clarity, the really big things may remain shrouded in our consciousness. Until you have the true depth of insight to see how you want to re-invent yourself, at least we should know what the next little step is. If we take one little step at a time, we'll have made some progress. If we are on the right path, the steps should be relatively easy—doorways should open because we have the right keys. We will surely encounter obstacles, but as our vision develops, it will carry us along in surmounting them.
