Astrological Forecast
November, December 1991
By Terry Lamb
This has been a summer of the truly miraculous. Mother Russia and her neighboring republics have risen as phoenixes out of the ashes of the Soviet Union. How could we have anticipated such a glorious end to what appeared to be the death knell of glasnost and perestroika only a few days earlier? But even the old Red Guard had changed, softened. They just couldn't stomach crushing civilians with tanks. Stalin's shadow over the Soviet Union has truly faded. We know that nothing is ever final, and so we must be calm as Russia and its surrounding republics travel the roller coaster ride toward independence. The need for greed (fear of want) and dominance (fear of being controlled) dies slowly. We can see that this is true as some of the new republics struggle against replacing an old dictatorship with a new one. Still, we must feel joy at the freedom that so many more will enjoy, and pray that they find a stable peace-within and without. Of course, the Middle East leaves much to be desired. The balance of power there must shift, and some in Israel are trying to prevent this from happening, to remain in the past. Astrologically, this is a time of transmutation. Now, more than ever, we encounter this theme as Chiron moves through Leo, the sign in which we find Transpluto, the Great Transmuter itself. It will also oppose Saturn this year; bringing interdimensional restructuring-memories, dreams and interactions with other dimensions. There has never been a better time to develop new levels of consciousness. 1992 truly could be the Year of Interdimensional Consciousness. But now is the time when your long (suffering?) efforts of the previous year receive their rewards, as Pluto, Uranus, Neptune and Saturn (in that order) complete their cycles, to begin new ones. You may notice people feeling a little more confused or behaving rather unpredictably after the Full Moon now and for the next few months. This is because we will have been building up to the Full Moon expecting a certain outcome based on the sign that the Sun was in during the New Moon. Since the Sun changes signs right after the Full Moon, our focus, and thus our way of solving a problem, will change to that of the next sign. This may lead to a few surprises and a Full Moon that is a little more noticeable than usual. November will see wisdom and truth come to the forefront. The theme for the first week of November (through the 8th) is interdimensional shifting and breakthrough in consciousness bringing action. This action could have miraculous undertones around the 11th as a once-in-a-lifetime aspect of upliftment occurs then. On the 12th the Sun wins the race with Mars to Pluto (by a nose). The theme for the week beginning the 10th is expect the unexpected" and you may be pleasantly surprised. Don't forget that the Sun's conjunction to Pluto marks the beginning of a new yearly Pluto cycle, bringing to us issues in transformation, mass consciousness and soul-connectedness. Watch what happens around this date. These issues will evolve further around February 24th, May 11th and July 30th.Mars, on the other hand, conjuncts Pluto every two years. Combining change with aggressiveness, it can bring out the worst in world affairs. We may see a new wave of terrorism and warlike behavior, or we may see terrorism become a thing of the past, as hostage-taking ceases to be relevant to today's political arena. I expect the current hostages to be in the news during November, and their perpetually imminent release may finally take place. From the 18th through the 21st, there is a heavy emphasis on transmutation, which could come in the form of cellular decoding. Get those fears and enslavement patterns out of your system! If you resist them, you will have difficulty now. Of course, if you have difficulty, be kind to yourself and do not underestimate for a minute the power of your experience, subtle though it may be. When the Sun enters Sagittarius on the 22nd, transcendence will be in the air, and you may feel uplifted. We may, between the holiday festivities, have time to wax philosophic, or at least humorous-most humorists are born with strong Sagittarius. The energy during the week following the 21st may be reaching a rare climax-rare because of the heaviness of what came in the preceding weeks and because the Full Moon falls just before the Sun bursts into Sagittarius. The planets leave us a breath-filled gap within which we can take time to extend our gratitude for the abundance of the year gone past, whether it be on Thanksgiving or another appropriate time. On the 28th, Mercury will once again begin its backward trek through the skies. The theme for this retrograde will be conscious understanding bringing transcendence. Social change will be in the air. I wouldn't expect travel plans to go smoothly during this holiday season. Weather may be unpredictable and cause delays, especially around December 5-6th, 9-10th and 18th. As always, do not be disheartened by the wrench that is temporarily thrown in the works during the three weeks of the retrograde-we all need to slow down periodically and challenge ourselves with new thoughts. We must remember that thought is the foundation of our reality. By responding to what lies within us with focused intention, we create our world. This is why Mercury's retrograde can be a truly momentous period. As the manifestor of consciousness into form, everyone feels this magician's energies whichever way they go. December: On the 1st, we have a great opportunity to reach new plateaus of understanding. Interdimensional travel and communication will be possible, as well. The New Moon on the 5th heralds a month of unexcelled opportunity for manifesting transformative energies into usable form. A planetary event that occurs only once every 6 years will bless us during the month of Christmas and make this a very special holiday season, full of the power of love. Outside of travel, the first half of December will bring us growth in spirituality and smooth transition. In particular, the 11th through the 15th will bring a seeding of higher consciousness like a shower of light for those who can reach for it. Regarding those issues thrown up in the air when Mercury went retrograde, you can expect to hit the ground running on the 18th when it returns to direct motion. It is time for fast action. Now only days before the Full Moon, the hours before Christmas may become a blur. The flurry of last minute shopping will paint smiles over the merchant's Mercury-retrograde frowns. Once again, our response to the Full Moon may be confused by the Sun's change in sign right after it. The Sun's move into Capricorn also heralds the Winter Solstice (Yule) and the return of the light to ascendancy, an event that we celebrate yearly in an unconscious way. Use this time to give birth to new ideas and plans that can grow during the quiet time between now and spring. The theme for the last week of December is adjustment to a more moderate lifestyle. Around the world, we will see cautions against excess at this time. Indeed, modesty of lifestyle (which has nothing to do with morality!) will be a keynote in the coming year the world over. This is modesty in the Chinese sense, something like the antithesis of extravagance. There seem to be reasons each year for crying over the spilt milk of Christmas overspending-they're just different each time. This time, the remorse may be nearly immediate, and the after-Christmas returns are likely to only be surpassed by the after-Christmas sales for activity. Use this holiday season to continue your growth toward a more spiritual form of celebration. In spite of living in a culture brimming with indoctrination into materialism (with the media as its mouthpiece), it is worth making the transition. It is a wonderful way to end the year and holds a bright promise for 1992! Blessed Be! |
